Freelance Unleashed interview

The folks over at Freelance Unleashed were kind enough to interview me about all things freelancing.

Head on over there and give their blog a look. It's a new site, but seems like they're stockpiling some pretty quality content about promoting yourself as a freelancer and getting your freelance career started.

Discourse

I really like what Jeff Atwood is doing with his new startup. Discourse is an open-source approach to the old discussion forum design which has been around forever.

It's a Rails / Ember.js software package that they're offering paid support and hosting plans for. It'll be interesting to see if this model takes off. Definitely something I'll be keeping an eye on.

Best Vendor

Anyone who runs a SaaS knows that there are a ton of "list your app" type sites out there. The quality of them is generally pretty poor - but I've recently discovered Best Vendor and I'm enjoying it.

They've put together a quality design, and added a social aspect of reviewing and sharing about products you use. I went there originally to make a profile page for Cashboard but ended up sticking around.

The "lists" feature they have going seems to ride the wave of those "Top 10 Apps To Do (something)" posts you see on popular blogs.

I put together a couple, including the essential tools behind Cashboard and productivity tools of the highly caffeinated. Give the site a look next time you're researching apps.

Awesome Cashboard review

The great people over at AppStorm wrote a very in-depth review of Cashboard that made my day.

It's wonderful to see people taking notice of the app and appreciating all the hard work I've put in. Definitely a great way to end the week.
