Office Playlist 10.11.13 [DARKER]

I'm not sure about you, but I need to listen to music to be productive.

These posts aim to expose you to music that helps me get my job done without going crazy. Maybe it'll help you too?

This week I've been listening to a collection of darker, industrial beats that go perfectly with the colder weather and darker days we've been having.

All of these albums are from one of my favorite labels - Ohm Resistance - and feature artork by the incredibly talented Karol Lasia aka KHOMATECH.

Blood of heroes

Blood Of Heroes is a band I've just recently discovered.

Their sound is somewhere between Aphex Twin style drum & bass and heavy metal, with ragga vocals. The combo sounds like it wouldn't work, but these guys pull it off.

It ends up sounding like a soundtrack for apocalypse, and I'm into it.

The group features Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu, Napalm Death) and Bill Laswell, with beats from Submerged and End.user and vocals from Dr. Israel.

Ex Napalm Death drummer Scorn has been one of my favorite producers for a long time. Many people claim that his work was one of the main influences behind dubstep, and I tend to agree.

This album is slow, loud, and sinister. Yes!

Silent Killer

Rounding out the albums this week is a menacing, high energy collection of drum & bass tracks from Silent Killer. This is the perfect thing to put on after 3-4 cups of coffee. Play it loud, and bang out some code you've been having trouble with.

Trust me it works.
